Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It wasn't as popular as IV. However, the band managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was also the first album featuring a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet format of previous albums and was a more ferocious, constant effort with a harder edge than Hydra. Its edgier sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability on the drums and an improved, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloned earlier performances.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live performance in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a new studio album just a few months after and embarked on a world tour help promote the album. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began looking through old tapes and demos to find songs that hadn't been recorded before. It was completed as a double-album titled Then And
